March has been one of the most active months yet for The Future Is Now, and the progress is happening on two fronts: our current home and our future home.
Over the coming weeks, you will begin to notice changes here at our current building. Rooms will start clearing out. Furniture will consolidate. Spaces will begin to shift as we prepare for our move.
You will also see our worship center begin to look different.
Equipment and platform elements will start coming down as we prepare for a temporary transition season while construction continues at our future home. More details about what that season will look like are coming very soon.
From day one, this project has been rooted in responsible stewardship. That means many of the platform components currently in our worship center are being carefully removed so they can be reused and repurposed in the new space.
What you will see happening here is not waste. It is preparation.
Construction is moving with serious momentum.
The children’s side of the building is buzzing with activity. Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are all going in. Metal studs are up. Drywall is being installed. The rooms are taking shape. You can walk through the space now and begin to see where classrooms will be, where kids will gather, and where ministry will happen.
All of the finishes for this area have been finalized. Lobby flooring has been selected. Millwork for the children’s classrooms has been designed. And in several areas, construction is actually ahead of schedule.
This side of the building will continue moving quickly.
The biggest transformation is happening in the future worship center.
In the last update, we shared that the exterior walls were being reinforced so the second-story concrete floor could be safely removed. Right now, construction crews are doing the careful, detailed work of cutting out that concrete slab and all of its metal reinforcement. It is slow, precise, and demanding work.
But when it is finished, what used to be a space with a 10-foot ceiling will become a soaring 30-foot worship center.
The HVAC system is being rerouted. Pillars that once sat in the middle of the room will be removed. New steel beams will arrive to carry the weight of the structure in their place.
The entire space is being reshaped. All of it so that we can create a worship environment designed for the future of what God wants to do through this church.
Not just a building. But the people whose lives will change inside of it.
Kids who will grow up learning the gospel. Students who will discover their calling. Families who will find hope. People who will walk through those doors looking for grace.
That is what we are building for.
