If you have been asking, “How close are we?” take a look around. This building is starting to look a lot less like a construction project and a lot more like our new home.
In the children’s area, the floors are in. The lights are on. The bathrooms are painted. Cabinets have arrived. And air conditioning is beginning to come online. Room by room, these spaces are becoming the places where the next generation will learn about Jesus.
And something else happened this month that makes all of this feel very real. The furniture is here. What we selected and ordered months ago has now been delivered, and our new home is beginning to fill with the pieces that will make it feel like home.
In the Worship Center, the steel work is nearly complete, the risers are built, and now we are moving into the part we have all been waiting to see. The chairs are going in.
For months, we have looked at steel, concrete, and an empty room. Now we are beginning to see the place where we are actually going to gather.
Outside, the front façade has been painted, with new signage, porches, and walkways beginning to take shape. The exterior slats are going in, and the building is starting to show the face our city will come to know.

This month we began taking small groups of partners into our new home to see it for themselves. Watching people walk through these rooms and picture the future has been one of the most meaningful parts of this season.

Before long, kids will be learning about Jesus in these rooms. Families will walk through those doors. People will sit in that furniture. And those Worship Center chairs will not be empty anymore.
